Delivered Public Outcomes
Our detailed case studies showcase how we ensure stakeholder alignment, navigate constraints and optimize data strategy for lasting community impact.
Prioritizing Investment through Geo-Spatial Data
Lantern Strategic Solutions’ founder, Jonathon Steiner, led the development of prioritization indices in the City of Denver (Neighborhood Equity and Stabilization Team “NEST Index”) and the City of Lakewood (Lakewood Investment & Future Transformation, “LIFT Index”). These tools drive thoughtful, consistent, and impactful investment in these communities. The indices are developed based on community priority and economic strategic planning documentation, which means no index is the same and that priority regions align with vision. Automated Economic Intelligence Dashboard
The standard version of this dashboard collates key economic data indicators from the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor and Statistics, and Bureau of Economic Analysis into one single source of truth. It speaks to the major elements of economic activity: businesses, people, costs, and the ecosystem.
Lantern’s automated economic intelligence dashboard is designed around a simple principle: the right people need the right level of information. The tool is broken into three views: Public, Leadership, and Operational. In the public view, we highlight a small number of key indicators that communicate economic health and community progress. In the leadership view, the tool highlights a focused set of strategic metrics that support policy, planning, and decision-making. Lastly, behind both views is the comprehensive operational view that gives staff access to the full depth of data needed for analysis, reporting, business development, grant management, and day-to-day program execution.
The tool can be configured to the needs of your community or entirely customized to pull-in proprietary or program specific data elements.
Trusted Voices
"Jonathon has been an invaluable partner in developing the NEST Index. I trust him to bring the data forward honestly and clearly, even when the findings are complex or challenge our assumptions. Just as importantly, he is thoughtful, collaborative, and genuinely committed to building something useful together."

"Lantern worked alongside us from start to finish with the analytical skills to sort through and tie to our economic development goals, directing an efficient way forward. They explained their work clearly, let us refine the toolas needed, and respected our time and budget. With LIFT, our residents, council, and staff now share a common picture of where Lakewood stands today and where we can grow."
